Why Marc donates

I remember making my first whole blood donation as a 17 year old ( some years ago now) after being inspired by a family friend who was a dedicated blood donor himself. Over the years and as donation numbers rolled over, it became a way of life, but it also became very personal to me. When I started donating plasma in 2015 the reason and need to donate triggered a personal cord on various levels and I am thankful and humbled that in some way by simply taking an hour out of my day, I might be able to play a role in hopefully being able to help someone in need, whether it is someone I know, someone I have lost, someone I have read about and for those that I might never meet. We all have our reasons, our motivations and those that they know; I hope that someone might find their inspiration, the same way I found mine in a family uncle who inspired me to become a donor. After all, if an hour of our time could help someone, why wouldn’t you?
