Amazing Story
Sue's Story
I have had two big operations on my duodenum which had an unusual and rare blockage, and in the second one I stopped breathing and hemorrhaged, which resulted in me having a blood transfusion.
This was in 1968, and I am now 68.
Since then I have done a lot of traveling round the world, lived in Singapore for three years, and have two sons in their thirties. I also have two grandchildren. I still work full time, and used to go for long jogs, but now go for long walks, so am very fit.
I wanted to donate blood afterward, but was advised not to do so after such complicated abdominal surgery.
I will always be grateful for receiving the blood, and think about it a lot and what would have ensued if someone hadn’t been so kind.
