Amanda's story

My mum required an emergency transfusion during the birth of my older sister so it's possible that without blood donors I wouldn't be here. I donate blood partly out of gratitude for that, but partly also because I have many friends who would love to donate but can't because they are gay, bi, or lived in the UK during the banned period for vCJD. Donating blood is easy and fast and the least I can do really, to help people continue to enjoy their lives and their loved ones' lives.
