Why Henriette donates regularly

I never really thought about my blood type much - it wasn't until I saw a call-out on a signpost outside the old NZ Blood Centre asking for donors with my type, that I decided to look into this further.
Donating blood is a great thing for the donor and the receiver. It has made me more aware of my diet, insuring I have all the nutrition I need, I drink more water because of it, and I have to be honest - it feels good to know I was able to help someone.
I'm surprised not more people donate, considering it's something we all produce, there is no cost and very little effort involved, you get to help someone else, and the biscuits are always a treat :)
And at the end of the day, I always hope that someone else thought the same way, should I ever be in a position where I need to receive blood.
