6.6 Standard MHP Pathway

The Standard MHP is for non-traumatic, non-obstetric, massively bleeding patients such as massive surgical bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding and ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm. Activation of the Standard MHP requires the presence of at least one of the three main indicators below, in addition to senior clinician judgement:

  • Systolic BP ≤90 mmHg
  • HR ≥120/ min
  • Other signs of shock/ hypoperfusion: bradycardia, sweating, pallor, collapsed veins, air hunger, altered mental status, low or falling end-tidal CO2
